Ad is a Dutch former politician, who represented the Christian Democratic Appeal (CDA) as a member of the House of Representatives of the States General from 1977 to 1998. In 1978 he proposed Lansink’s Ladder, a rule of thumb for waste management, which was adopted in the Netherlands in 1979 and is now globally recognised under the name “the waste hierarchy”. He is also the author of Challenging Changes.
