The admin desk at Isonomia had been a hive of activity so far in 2012. The occasional snow flakes outside the office have been more than matched by a flurry of new posts, while page views continued their rapid upward trend, growing by more than a third in January.
The thanks for this of course go to our excellent authors – Chris Sherrington’s “Canning the Carbon” article was our most read in January, but there was also a good deal of interest in Alison Holmes’s “Proving Prevention”. Phillip Ward and Thomas Vergunst both had a lot of readers across several articles, while Antony Quinn’s piece on food waste collections stubbornly kept its place in the most popular list for much of the last month.
Thanks, too, go to our hundreds of visitors. Referrals from other websites increased by around 90% in January. All are welcome, whether from Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter – or indeed Keep Scotland Beautiful.
February has already seen a couple of new contributions from James Fulford and a new author, Claire Stonier – and there’s a lot more to come. Watch out for:
- Chris Sherrington on how litter affects turtles,
- Dominic Hogg on how India is addressing climate change,
- Sam Taylor on the problems of the EU ETS.
Also in the works are pieces on deposit refunds, WEEE and packaging – but we’re always on the look-out for other informed but accessible viewpoints on any issue in the environment sector that will be of interest to our audience. Our goal is to create a space where thoughts on topics from across the environment sector can be expressed and explored, enabling communication and cross fertilisation of ideas. Whether it’s recycling or climate change, agriculture or resources – whatever’s on your mind, click “contact us” and get in touch.
Enjoy the site, tell us what you think, tell your friends and keep coming back for more.
